Project Update – Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacement Project, Oct. 22
From the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Oct. 22 @ 9:22am:
Residents may have noticed initial work beginning on the Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacements project.
N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews have been installing erosion control devices and receiving material deliveries over the past week for upcoming work to replace the West Salisbury Street (U.S. 74) bridge over Lee's Cut.
Signage has been installed to alert residents that the westbound shoulder of West Salisbury Street will be closed near the bridge and Pelican Drive starting Oct. 27 so crews can safely relocate utility lines. The farthest east Pelican Drive access point to West Salisbury Street may be intermittently impacted while this works takes place. NCDOT will send out additional updates as the work progresses.
Additional information about the project can be found on the project webpage.
